Widex NanoCare - some of the greatest advances are the ones you can’t see
In 2008, Widex launched their latest innovation. NanoCare combines their unrivalled in-depth understanding of hearing health with lateral thinking and the latest advances in molecular chemistry.
NanoCare – a new level of protection from wax and moisture problems.
Protecting your hearing aids
One of the most avoidable aspects of degraded hearing aid performance is wax and moisture contamination. Although wax and moisture are perfectly natural, they can corrode and damage the delicate components inside a hearing aid.
This can contribute to untimely maintenance, a fall off in sound quality and inconvenience for the user.
Invisible shield, total protection
With NanoCare, Widex and the Danish Institute of Technology looked to nature for a beautifully simple solution.
Recreating the Lotus plant’s natural cleaning mechanism has taken years of research and resulted in a new nano-coating – just 2nm thick: 20,000 times thinner than a human hair!
Applied to our new NanoCare Wax guards and some models’ microphone grids, this transparent shield is designed to actively repel debris from its surface.
Tested and proven
In scientific testing, this invisible and seemingly tiny advance has proved effective against wax and moisture for 3 months in normal use.
And because NanoCare is not a physical barrier, unlike some other wax protection systems available, it is acoustically transparent.
This means NanoCare does not interfere with the passage of sound from your hearing, so you can be sure your Widex hearing aid’s top quality sound is preserved for as long as possible.
