PE 550T Series - The FM choice for public communication

Visitors can enjoy using the Phonic Ear PE550T system in local churches, live theatres, stadiums, and conference centers — any large place where background noise, echo, or distance can be barriers to clear speech understanding. OnWave is appropriate for all ages, most often for people with mild to moderate hearing loss. Facilities purchase the OnWave wireless wide-band FM base-station transmitter, and distribute the personal receivers to their audience or congregation members upon request

How it works

The house sound system (or a microphone) plugs into the advanced base station transmitter, which digitally processes the audio signal and also generates the FM signal in the digital realm using Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) technology. This creates an exceptionally clear signal free from the phase noise associated with more traditional technology.

The 500R wide-band receiver and the 506R narrow-band receiver both offer a choice of five different listening accessories — monaural earbuds, binaural earbuds, stetoclip, teleloop for use with t-coil-equipped hearing aids, or standard headset.

Satisfies ADA requirements

In most cases, visitors need only ask for a receiver upon entering a facility. The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requires most public facilities to offer some form of enhanced listening device such as this.

Digitally clear sound

OnWave Direct Digital Synthesis offers a much clearer, cleaner signal than competing systems (shown left).
